This is by far one of Los Angeles' most popular community festivals! This Sunday, September 28th from 10am to 6:30pm, plan to enjoy the Abbot Kinney Festival in Venice. I love going to this event because it's so diverse, cultural and fun. This year, I'm hearing there will be a Green Lifestyle Area that will showcase art, music, community groups, and businesses that are inspiring healthy living. What's most compelling about this is the focus on "green" not as a trend, but as a firmly-grounded movement supported by people who are proactively demonstrating their care for the environment and the community...very cool. Word has it that will be sponsoring the bike valet. A bit of trivia: the Abbot Kinney Festival has grown to become the second largest community event in Southern California...15,000 people!!! The musical lineup is over-the-top this year at the festival! Try not to miss it if you can help it! Here's a great You Tube clip from 2007!
