My gal pal, Jodie, loves to celebrate! She celebrated the day she got her AARP card. She celebrated her pre-hip replacement. And just last evening we celebrated her birthday AND 1-year anniversary since her hip replacement. And WHAT a party! She has the most interesting, eclectic group of friends - artists, doctors, divorce mediators, matchmakers, hedge fund advisors - all drinking and laughing and networking in the absolute funkiest spot in all of Santa Monica - Renee's Courtyard. I found a bunch of diverse on Yelp that you can read by clicking here. Renee's Courtyard Cafe has been a mainstay on Wilshire Blvd. in Santa Monica for as long as I can remember. It wasn't always as "cool to be kitsch" as it is now. By the time we left at 10pm, the place was just filling up with the young, artistic/entertainment industry and Urban crowd. I had the golden experience of spending most of the evening chatting with Jodie's dear friend Deanie, a divorce mediator. What a hoot! I knew Deanie through business networking circles back in 1993. We hadn't seen each other in a long time, and it was great getting to know her. She is a very funny gal. She has a great gig these days - mediator for Fox Network's Divorce Court. I'm grateful to not need Deanie's services myself. But along the way, I'm certain there will be clients that I get referred to that will need someone to help with their divorce. And I'm pleased to know her. Refferals are always one of the best ways for me to receive a compliment. If you know someone looking to buy or sell, please pass on my information.
