I am SO excited, I can almost squeal! The corner of Lincoln Blvd. and Rose Ave. in Venice has finally been gentrified. They took out a crummy Big Lots and CVS downsized into a smaller space in the same strip center. And now we are getting ready to welcome the new Whole Foods Market! 44,000 square feet of fabulousness!!!

Some folks are upset about Whole Foods opening as it's a large, commercial company and may tarnish the uniqueness that is Venice. I am personally very excited. It doesn't hurt that I live less than 2 blocks away! Let's face it, it didn't displace a local market (which would be upsetting) and the large grocery stores in the area are pretty disappointing. If you get to drive by, you'll see how gorgeous it is! I have been a Whole Foods lover since before it was Whole Foods Market. The original stores in LA were called Mrs. Gooch's, and back in the early '90s they got bought out. Now they're on a path to make every city in the country healthy by offering organic and whole foods everywhere! I stopped by today and asked the security guard when they are opening...SEPTEMBER 3rd!!! That's next week! I bet it will be a big grand opening, so plan to check it out if you're in the 'hood! Everyone's predicting that the neighborhood will continue to clean up, and property values along the Rose Ave. corridor will remain strong, if not beat Venice average values. My advice...if you see a great property in the area, buy it! You can read about the store openings in Venice or other areas on the Whole Foods site
